Where your ideas come to printed life: BFP
Thank you for your interest
in submitting your manuscript to BFP.
BFP's business model promotes fairness across the board. We do not create exclusive contracts. Authors retain all rights to their work.
BFP is neither a vanity press nor a pay to be an author publisher. We only accept projects that are aligned with our mission, and we only work with authors who seek to be published because their work is aimed at achieving some form of improvement for its target market.
As a publisher, BFP believes in the Madame C.J. Walker and Mary Kay way; meaning, BFP positions authors to capitalize on the fruits of their labor, which results in all personal sales completed by the author being the author's profit.
Author, this arrangement allows you to profit from and control sales you are directly involved in. For example, you purchase your reduced-rate inventory from BFP, sell your book, then keep all of the money. The books will cost you the amount the printer charges. It is not unusual for a 150-page book (with black interior text, and a full color cover) to cost around $4.00 to print. Here's how the figures work: For instance, say your book retails at $16.00 and you pay $4.00 to have it printed, the full retail sale of that book will then profit you $12.00.
Distribution: BFP offers full, online, global distribution via all major online book retail outlets.
BFP will pay a 35-50% royalty of the net amount to individual authors for sales that are completed and fulfilled via BFP's contracted distribution channels, which include all major retailers. *Anthology contributors do not receive royalty payments.
Sales that are generated from your personal website, the profit and fulfillment responsibility of those sales are yours.
How BFP is able to offer authors a 35-50% royalty and allow them to keep the profits of their personal sales: BFP charges a one-time service fee to book manuscripts. The fee covers typesetting, editing, cover design, ISBN, professional representation, and marketing. Installment pay schedules are available.
